Image & Form has proudly announced that their next title is SteamWorld Heist for the Nintendo 3DS. The announcement was made during an interview with Nintendo of Europe and is targeted for a 2015 release.

Unlike the first title, SteamWorld Heist is a stark departure from what the series is known for. Instead of being set in a western, SteamWorld Heist is a space adventure. You play as a pirate and your goal is to survive the harsh universe. Like the prefix suggests, the aim of the game is to recruit better crew members , upgrade your spaceship and survive through the act of heists.

From what I can gather so far from the interview – SteamWorld Heist will be completely different from SteamWorld Dig. Brjánn Sigurgeirsson says that the game has a “turned-based” combat system and the title has to yet be given a genre or simply a mesh of many genre’s in a single title. SteamWorld Heist is a prequel to the first title and there will be a game that will fit in between Dig and Heist say Image & Form.

Image & Form has purposely been discreet about the information, likely wanting to hold back the juicy parts for a later date. However, a teaser trailer has been shared by the company, which you can watch above.

About - Former friend of Mii-gamer’s Editor-in-Chief, Michael! Unfortunately, the friendship was ruined after a fateful night of Mario Kart 8. As the loser of the bet, I agreed to help around Mii-gamer as the Deputy Editor. Nah just joking! I joined Mii-gamer because I have passion for writing and Nintendo happens to be my favorite game company, it was the perfect opportunity to share my passion. I play all types of game, but I especially love online oriented titles. My favorite Nintendo franchise are 3D Mario platformers ( a bit cliche, I know).
