Super Smash Bros. 3DS Day-One Patch Adds Conquest Mode
Today, Nintendo of Japan announced that they intend to roll out a day-one patch for Super Smash Bros. For 3DS in Japan. The day-one patch is only required for the retail version of Smash Bros 3DS as the digital version will come pre-patched. The software patch will activate the online features, iron-out a few technical issues and will include an additional mode called Conquest.
According to Nintendo, Conquest serves as a reward system during online play. Players can earn points towards their character after each win. Occasionally, Conquest will activate – allowing the player with the most points to earn additional prizes. Conquest will automatically activate on Monday, September 14 at 3pm JST.
Super Smash Bros. For 3DS is the fourth installment in Nintendo’s critically acclaimed fighting franchise. The title features gaming’s most iconic mascots including Mario, Link, Donkey, Sonic, Mega Man and Pac-Man. The complete Smash Bros character roster bolsters 49 strong fighters.
Super Smash Bros. For 3DS is set for release in Europe, North America and Australia on October 3. The Wii U version is targeted for a holiday release.
