Today on Miiverse, director Masahiro Sakurai has shared more details on the panel challenges in Super Smash Bros. for WiiU/3DS. Sakurai says that panels will gradually unlock in the “Challenge area” as you complete challenges, which essentially serves as in-game achievements/trophies for Super Smash Bros For Wii U/3DS. In Brawl, completing challenges earns you trophies, and I suspect this will be the same in the new iterations.

“A panel in the Challenges area will unlock everytime you clear a challenge. When you unlock a panel, you’ll see hints for unlocking panels directly adjacent to it on all sides.” Sakurai wrote on Miiverse.

Additionally, Sakurai revealed that each panel will unlock picture related to the challenge. He also noted that the challenges in the 3DS version will be on the easy side, while the Wii U version will feature the more difficult tasks.

“And this time, each panel will unlock pictures related to the challenge. This is tougher than it looks, you know? The challenges in the 3DS version are a little on the easy side, but the Wii U version challenges might be a bit trickie.”
