Meta Knight joins the battle?

Today, director Masahiro Sakurai has once again used his “Pic of the Day” updates to share more information on the upcoming title, Super Smash Bros For Wii U/3DS. Continuing his habit of good nature trolling in Miiverse, Mr. Sakurai has playful revealed that Mii Fighters will be able to wear mascot themed costumes.

As shown in the screenshot below, the Mii Swordfighter is fashioning a fantastic Meta Knight mask, and longtime Nintendo fans can recognize the Samus Aran helmet that the Mii Gunfighter is wearing.

What does this mean in the grand scheme of things? Essentially, Sakurai is alluding that Mii Fighter costumes can be customized to resemble our favorite fighters in the game. I suspect all the playable fighters will have an accompanying costume part that can be worn by Mii Fighters.

Furthermore, I do believe Sakurai is teasing the inclusion of Meta Knight as a playable character in Super Smash Bros For Wii U and 3DS. The Meta Knight mask is a good indication that the master swordsman will be returning for the new game. Despite the widespread belief that Meta Knight was broken in Brawl, I still believe he will be included in the playable roster for the new game.

What are your thoughts? Will Meta Knight return for Super Smash Bros. 4? Do you like the Mii Fighter costumes?

Please check out the screenshot and Mr. Sakurai’s commentary below:

About - Former friend of Mii-gamer’s Editor-in-Chief, Michael! Unfortunately, the friendship was ruined after a fateful night of Mario Kart 8. As the loser of the bet, I agreed to help around Mii-gamer as the Deputy Editor. Nah just joking! I joined Mii-gamer because I have passion for writing and Nintendo happens to be my favorite game company, it was the perfect opportunity to share my passion. I play all types of game, but I especially love online oriented titles. My favorite Nintendo franchise are 3D Mario platformers ( a bit cliche, I know).
