Smash Fans will be encouraged to hear that there are only 56 sleeps before Super Smash Bros. For 3DS hits the shelves. I hope you are feeling the hype!

In yesterdays “Pic of the Day” update,  director Masahiro Sakurai revealed that Xerneas and Victini will be supporting Pokemon in Super Smash Bros For Wii U/3DS. Today, Mr. Sakurai showcased the trophy gallery in Super Smash Bros. For 3DS. In the gallery, you can rotate the trophy by drawing circles on the touchscreen. In addition to that, like in previous iterations each trophy will come with a detailed description.

Also, you can now buy trophies by using the in-game currency. This is especially useful if you are having trouble in obtaining a certain Trophy. Funnily enough, the trophies can sometimes go on sale. As depicted in the second screenshot, the Phantom trophy has a 30% discount now selling for 210g. Sakurai also says that there may be more trophies in Super Smash Bros. For 3DS than in Brawl, which will surely please completionists (like yours truly).

I admire the effort made by Mr. Sakurai and his team to perfect every detail of Super Smash Bros For. 3DS. It seems that even trivial elements like trophies had time and effort devoted towards it.

Please check out the screenshots and Sakurai’s commentary below:

Pic of the day. Here’s the trophy gallery for the 3DS version. You can rotate the trophies by drawing circles on the bottom screen. Super Smash Bros. Brawl had tons of trophies, but rumor has it that the 3DS version alone may have more than Brawl. Looks like the Dr. Wily that we made from scratch for the 3DS version is on his knees in disbelief.

Here’s something new–the trophy shop. If you’re having a hard time getting certain trophies, why not just buy them? They sometimes go on sale, too.

Super Smash Bros For 3DS is due for release on October 3. While Super Smash Bros. For Wii U still has a tentative holiday launch.
