Atlus has proudly announced that Etrian Odyssey II Untold: The Knight Of Fafnir will be released for the Nintendo 3DS in 2014. As you may have already noticed Etrian Odyssey II Untold: The Knight Of Fafnir  is indeed a remake of the 2008 DS title – Etrian Odyssey II: Heroes of Lagaard.

According to the game director Shigeo Kimori – the positive reception of Millenium Girl ( the remake of the first game on the 3DS) encouraged Atlus and the team to remake the second installment for the 3DS. If you can read more at Famitsu (that is if you can read Japanese).

In addition to the announcement, Atlus has uploaded the debut trailer which you can watch below:

The trailers briefly introduces the five main character, a small snippet of the story elements and of course, some of the dungeon crawling gameplay that the series is renowned for.

Famitsu was able to scoop a handful of fantastic character art of the 4 main protagonists. Please have a closer look of them below:

Etrian Odyssey II Untold: The Knight Of Fafnir is set for release in Japan during winter 2014. Considering that other Etrian games have made its way across the ocean and into western systems – I see no reason why Etrian Odyssey II Untold: The Knight Of Fafnir will not be released in Europe and North America.

We can expect more information to be revealed in the near future so stay tuned at Mii-gamer for all the latest updates.

About - Former friend of Mii-gamer’s Editor-in-Chief, Michael! Unfortunately, the friendship was ruined after a fateful night of Mario Kart 8. As the loser of the bet, I agreed to help around Mii-gamer as the Deputy Editor. Nah just joking! I joined Mii-gamer because I have passion for writing and Nintendo happens to be my favorite game company, it was the perfect opportunity to share my passion. I play all types of game, but I especially love online oriented titles. My favorite Nintendo franchise are 3D Mario platformers ( a bit cliche, I know).
