First Look Of Princess Ruto In Hyrule Warriors

There have been reports flying around the internet suggesting that Darunia and Princess Ruto will be playable characters in Hyrule Warriors. To tell you the truth, I wanted to report the news; however, I could not find a translation that concretely confirmed the new playable characters.

Now, it appears that those reports are indeed accurate. Captain Joe from Twitter has shared the Famitsu scans that detail Princess Ruto for Hyrule Warriors.  Yep, she is making a delightful appearance in Hyrule Warriors. Judging from the screenshots we can safely assume that she is a playable character, and not an NPC.

For those unfamiliar with her, Princess Ruto’s only appearance in the franchise was in the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. As her title suggests – Princess Ruto was the heir to the Zora throne, and former fiancee of Link. Since Ocarina of Time, Ruto has not made an appearance in a Zelda title, until Hyrule Warriors.

Also noteworthy, is the Goron that appears in the next page. Again, it is safe to assume that this is Darunia from Ocarina of Time.

Koei Tecmo has said that they will officially unveil new characters for Hyrule Warriors this week, so expect the news to be on Sheik, Princess Ruto and Darunia.

Currently, the playable character count is at 10 with Link, Impa, Zelda, Midna, Lana, Agitha and Fi confirmed, soon to be joined by Sheik, Princess Ruto and Darunia.

I’ve noticed that the vast majority of playable characters are female with Link and Darunia being the only individuals filled with a healthy dose of testosterone.

Hyrule Warriors is slated for a September 19 release in Europe, September 20 in Australia and in the America’s on September 26.
