Rumor – Free Amiibo Bundled With Super Smash Bros For Wii U?
Amiibo Super Smash Bros for Wii U Bundle Planned?
An Amiibo Super Smash Bros For Wii U could be on the cards, according to the latest rumors.
According to Sickr of Mynintendonews, Nintendo might be planning to bundle a free Amiibo with every copy of Super Smash Bros For Wii U. Sickr claims that a GameStop Manager has heard discussions that every copy of Super Smash bros For Wii U will come with a Amiibo figurine. His sources also suggest that Super Smash Bros For Wii U’s release date is on November 21, which coincides with the strong Black Friday Sales in the United States.
The sources wishes to remain anonymous – so claims cannot be verified. Like any other rumor, it would be wise to take this with a grain of salt. However, in my opinion, this would be a great move on Nintendo’s part. According to a recent study – Amiibo’s are one of the most desirable products in the toys to life range.
“We tested interest in an extensive list of current and potential smart toy brands and even prior to the Amiibo announcement, smart toys based on Nintendo characters were among the most desired smart toys in the US, Europe and Brazil.”
I would personally buy an Amiibo Super Smash Bros. For Wii U bundle. But one must question the profitability side of the move! Is it wise for Nintendo to undercut their profit cut by adding a free Amiibo. Perhaps, it would be wiser to make a limited Edition bundle during the holiday season only! Maybe Nintendo’s internal figures suggest that the Amiibo‘ will sell well during the holiday season, and intend to make a large profit on Amiibo’s rather than the software.
In my opinion, there could be slight truth in this rumor – I don’t think an Amiibo will be packaged with every copy of Super Smash Bros For Wii U, but rather will be included in a premium bundle during the holiday season!
What are your thoughts? Would you buy an Amiibo Super Smash Bros. Bundle? Do you think it is a smart move?
