Mega Metagross Ability, Stats and More Detailed.

Mega Metagross

Last week we got confirmation of the new Mega Pokemon from Coro Coro Magazine. Earlier this week we got an official trailer showcasing Mega Metagross in action. Nintendo has updated the Official Pokemon Website with some interesting tidbits about Mega Metagross.

Firstly, we have official confirmation that Mega Metagross’ ability is Tough Claw, which increases the power in contact moves by 33%. This will assure that Mega Metagross will be a power house as a physical sweeper.  In addition, we have a good idea of the stat distribution in Mega Metagross. According, to the Pokemon Site – Mega Metagross has a significant boost in speed over its normal form. Furthermore, the Mega Pokemon will have increase stats in Attack, Special Attack, Special Defense and defense – making Mega Metagross a well balance Pokemon – able to play as an offensive and defensive team member.

“Upon Mega Evolving, Metagross’s Ability changes to Tough Claws, which increases the power of attacks that make physical contact. Its Speed is also increased greatly, and its stats are better balanced than ever! With increases in its Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk, and Sp. Def, this is a Pokémon primed for both offense and defense.”

Steven signature Pokemon is Mega Metagross. Pokemon Champion Steven wears a Mega StickPin which contains a keystone which will activate the evolution.

“Steven is also a user of Mega Evolution. He wears a Mega Stickpin, which bears a Key Stone, one of the mysterious stones needed for a Pokémon to Mega Evolve.”

So far I am digging Mega Metagross – he looks fierce and will likely be a devastating Pokemon in competitive play.
