It is no secret that Nintendo is banking on Super Smash Bros For Wii U and Amiibo’s to rejuvenate their Wii U business. The fact that Activision has made a killing with the Skylanders series will only encourage Nintendo even more. According, to new research by Interpret – Nintendo’s Amiibo’s are highly desired.

Firstly, the  Firm believes that demand of Smart Toys is strong, estimating that 72 million kids have expressed interest and desire on owning the product, particularly in emerging markets.

“Strong growth opportunities also exist in emerging gaming markets such as China, Brazil, and Russia, where more than 90 per cent of gamers ages six to 12 are interested in smart toys.”

Furthermore, Interpret also believes that Nintendo are well positioned with Amiibo’s, saying that Nintendo Smart Toys are amongst one of the most desirable brands.

“We tested interest in an extensive list of current and potential smart toy brands and even prior to the Amiibo announcement, smart toys based on Nintendo characters were among the most desired smart toys in the US, Europe and Brazil.”

This is encouraging to hear – hopefully – Nintendo can find huge success with the new product line. It all depends on their Marketing effort.
