Minecraft A Possibility On The Nintendo 3DS Or Wii U
It is quite sad that Minecraft is on almost every dedicated gaming platform, but on Nintendo’s systems. While not everyone has fallen in love with the game (including yours truly), one cannot help but think that Minecraft is a perfect fit with Nintendo console’s and the targeted demographics that the Big N typically focus’s on.
However with this said, it appears that Nintendo fans will not have too long for Minecraft to appear on the Nintendo 3DS or the Wii U. Speaking to Kotaku, Shigeru Miyamoto and Shinya Takahashi has shared their thoughts on the possibility of a partnership to bring Minecraft over. Firstly, Miyamoto likes the style of game, drawing comparison between the upcoming Mario Maker.
“I haven’t played it myself,” told Kotaku, “But I have heard quite a bit about it.” He gestured toward Takahashi. “I think he knows more about it than I do. But I like that style of game, and I look at Mario Maker as being something in a similar vein.”
Mr Takahashi seems to be alluding about the possibility of Minecraft on Nintendo seems. Takahashi explains that Minecraft popularity has not taken off in Japan, however, a partnership with Nintendo could be what the game needs to reach new heights in Japan.
“What’s interesting is that, in Japan, Minecraft is not popular in the way it is in the U.S. and Europe, so we’ve also thought that, if we were able to do a partnership like that, it might bring opportunity to help make Minecraft more popular in Japan.” said Takahashi.
Kotaku pressed on with the questioning, and asked why Minecraft is missing on Nintendo Platforms.
“Our hardware is the only hardware that you can do both the touch control and stick control,” Miyamoto told Kotaku, agreeing that the game is a good fit.
Importantly Takahashi and Miyamoto jokingly teased that the could be in negotiation with Markus Notch Persson and Mojang.
“Maybe we’re meeting with them! Who knows?”
Not sure how you feel, but I believe it is a real possibility that Minecraft will be available for both the 3DS and Wii U.
Make it happen Nintendo!
