The Best Looking E3 Game Goes To The Legend of Zelda Wii U
Deep down you all know the best looking and most compelling piece of software shown at E3 is The Legend of Zelda Wii U. It’s a fantastic balance of art, style and technical wizardry from Mr Aonuma’s team – a true masterpiece in every sense of the word. The anime design reminds me of Link, and more particularly the one large enemy very much reminds me of Miyazaki’s films, more specifically Howl’s Moving Castle.
I was a little skeptical about the philosophy of the open world world mantra that Aonuma discussed before E3. Fearing that the Zelda team would merely create a large world that was disjointed and bound by walls. However, after having a good look glimpse of the world created in this new Zelda title, my fears have now disappeared. It’s everything I wanted, and more. A vast, beautiful, and organic world! Perfection! 2015 can’t come soon enough!
Link looks awesome. I am digging those side burns and that short pony tail. The anime’ish look of Link – I suspect was chosen in order for the franchise to better appeal to the Japanese market. In the next day’s, I will have an in more depth analysis of my thoughts on the new Legend of Zelda game for Wii U. Until then, just stare at these gorgeous screenshots.
