Super Smash Bros Pic Of The Day 21.5.14: Sakura explains the new character mirror design

Like with Brawl, Sakurai will be providing daily updates on the development progress of Super Smash Bros For Wii U and Super Smash Bros For 3DS through Miiverse.

Yesterday’s Pic of the Day – Sakurai kindly shared a screenshot of the Capsule that contains all the assist trophy.

Today’s update Sakurai explains the new mirror design that is implemented into the game – which serves the purpose to showcase the best features of the character.

Sakurai:

Super Smash Bros For Wii U

Pic of the day. The leg and arm positions of some characters will automatically be mirrored when facing left or right. Mario, for example, will have his chest shown in the foreground regardless of whether he’s facing right or left. This was quite a tedious task, but thanks to it we can show the best features of each character even better.

Here’s another example: in the previous games, you saw the back of Kirby’s head when facing left. Now Kirby looks great from any angle.

I’m not so sure how I feel about this.

It might take a moment to adjust to the changes

haha took me a few moments to realize what exactly the change was..I think it won’t hamper game play at all. Also, Greninja’s alternate color looks cool..especially since it’s Red, but Bowser’s alternate color makes him look like he’s wearing a costume LOL.

          Greninja looks badass

Totally coolest looking new fighter and fighter overall.

          • miigamerz

Personally, I want to play as little mac

I actually want to play as Villager and Rosalina & Luma. The first because I love Animal Crossing and the latter because I enjoyed Super Mario Galaxy games and I found her to be my favorite character for Super Mario 3D World so now I plan to make that so in this game too.

I’m not worried so much about the change, it just seems so inconsequential. Why bother? So I can see my characters front? What if I want to see the back of them. No more Kirby dance :’(

Lol, I think it looks cool.
