Explosion of Mario Kart 8 Information! Plus more gorgeous footage!
Oh My G! Doesn’t this game look amazing? And no I am not strictly referring to the visuals.
Nintendo has invited a plethora of large gaming publications to get an exclusive and extensive hands-on preview on Mario Kart 8. Lucky Bastards! Unfortunately, I am too small to even be considered for an invitation to one of these hands-on events. Thankfully, other sites can provide information (of course I will cite them) – so no one will miss out. So prepared to be hyped!
To make things easy for you – I have done all the research and have gathered all the new Mario Kart 8 information in one convenient place for you.
Here’s what is new in Mario Kart 8:
- Piranha Plant is a brand new item – which attempts to crunch on opposing racers – furthermore, according to GameXplain the player gets a small speed boost every time the plant lunges its head to bite.
- Boomerang from Super Mario 3D Land will be a new item. The Boomerang can be used up to 3 times. According to IGN, the Boomerang can be thrown forward or thrown behind, but on the third use, it will not return back to the user instead bounce wildly around the track.
-In Anti-gravity mode – you can get a boost in speed if you bump into other karts. There are many strategic implementations. For example, hitting a racer in the back will give you a forward momentum boost, however, the victim will be shifted to the left – essentially disrupting them.
- According to Videogamer – Mario Kart 8 run’s at 60fps when 2 players are playing. However, the game drops to 30fps when 3-4 racers are playing simultaneously.
