Mega aerodactyl

Mega Aerodactyl has the potential to be one of the biggest threat of the new metagame. That insane base 150 speed stat and superb base 130 attack stat with the addition of the ability Tough Claws (which Power ups moves that makes contact) – Mega Aerodactyl will no doubt be in many times especially in sandstorm oriented ones.

Like in the previous gen, Aerodactyl (Mega Aerodactyl) will need to contend with the prevalence of stealth rock and as well as priority attack users like Scizor and Lucario whom can bypass Mega Aeorodactyls speed with a super effective bullet punch.

Hone Claw Mega Aerodactyl @ Aerodacylite

EVS: 252 Attack, 252 Speed, 4HP

Ability: Tough Claws, Nature: Jolly, Hasty, Naive

  • Stone Edge
  • Earthquake
  • Hone Claws
  • Roost / Fire Blast/Flamethrower

Admittedly, I am not sure how well this set will perform in real battle situations, but it looks good on paper. Stone Edge and Earthquake have good type coverage with hone claw as a stat boost to increase the attack and accuracy (perfect with stone edge). Roost can be used to recover off any damage Mega Aerodactyl has taken. Fire Blast or Flamethrower can be used (change nature to Hasty or Naive if so) to handle Skarmory and Ferrothorn.

Revenge Killer Mega Aerodactyl @ Aerodacylite

EVS: 252 Attack, 252 Speed, 4HP

Ability: Tough Claws, Nature: Jolly

  • Stone Edge
  • Earthquake
  • Crunch
  • Roost

This set is main goal is simple revenge killing. Mega Aerodactyl should be efficient in this role with a superb attack stat and speed. The strategy is simple, switch in after a fallen and proceed with attacking according to the situation.

Since steel doesnt resist dark anymore, i would gladly run crunch over flamthrower.
