It is no secret that Platinum games and Nintendo are celebrating a close relationship. The Wonderful 101 was not received well commercially, but has won the hearts of Nintendo fans. Bayonetta 2 will be developed by Platinum games and will subsequently be published by the Big N. So without a doubt Platinum and Nintendo are in bed with each other.

IGN had the chance to speak with Mr Kamiya, interestingly the legendary developer revealed he would love to work officially for Nintendo.

IGN proposed the question whether Platinum games is open to the opportunity for Platinum games to become a 1st party developer for Nintendo – Kamiya had this to say.

“I would love that. It would be great to work more closely with Nintendo.”

In addition, expressed a desire to make a sequel to Wonderful 101.

“I really have no idea at this point, but I would love to make a sequel to one of my own games. We put a tremendous amount of work into this game and it would be unfortunate if I would not get the chance to tell a new story with these characters.

“However, some of the bad guys you beat in this game won’t appear in a sequel. That’s kind of a depressing thought.”

I personally would love Platinum games to turn 1st party, they have many traits that resemble Nintendo – especially on their focus on quality rather than visuals.

So would you like a sequel to Wonderful 101?

What are your opinions on Platinum games becoming a 1st party developer?
