Zelda Wii U could have been shown at E3

(this is a bit old but worthy enough to get a post)

Nintendo has a solid presence at this years E3, much better than their showing last year. In the Nintendo direct – New Super Mario 3D World, Mario Kart 8, Bayonetta 2, Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze and Wind Waker HD. It is a quality list with many system sellers. But the list could have been much better. I mean much better. I am talking exponentially out of this world better.

Shigeru Miyamoto has told Eurogamer that they were considering showing the newest Legend of Zelda game at this years E3. Miyamoto explained that the development has been going well for Zelda Wii.

In his own words:

“We’re also working on a new Wii U Zelda game. Work on that is progressing fairly concretely. In fact, we were thinking about showing it here at E3 but decided to wait just a little bit longer before sharing it with everyone.”

Well this is good news for Zelda fans. The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword took 5 years to develop. Likely caused by the unfamiliarity with wiimotion plus. It seems we won’t have to wait 5 years to play Zelda Wii U. Maybe we will get a glimpse of the title in a Nintendo Direct later on this year, or at TGS, or Gamescom. If not we will most likely get a massive reveal at E3 next year.

Thanks Eurogamer 😛
