Wii U News: Fake Call of Duty Site trolls the community and the Wii U

Update: The teaser trailer is real. I got confused at some point in my research. I apologise

Perhaps one of the most convincing hoaxes in gamin history. The teaser site that went live recently theghostsarereal.com. Many people (including myself) believed this site was officially affiliated with Call of Duty: Ghost. However it turns out the site is not affiliated with Activision or Call of Duty.

The site released a teaser trailer at the end of the trailer revealing that the game will come to all platforms but the Wii U. The  hoax site caused a little stir in some communities because of the exclusion of the Wii U version. However thanks to Examiner, they uncovered that the site is not owned by Activision. So don’t believe the information coming out of this site. Oh don’t pre-order the game from the amazon link on the teaser site, it is quite obvious that the site is using the hype around Call of Duty: Ghosts to earn money.

Don’t worry. I’m 100% confident that the Wii U will get the next COD.

Besides Activision has told Examiner:

We don’t have any news for the Wii U at this time, as we aren’t dating next generation platforms yet. Stay tuned.

So don’t worry.

Huge thanks to Examiner for their investigative work. Go check them out
