Improvements I want to see in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire
Arguably Nintendo’s biggest 3DS title for the year (sales wise) Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will surely make Nintendo lots of money. Having said this, Game Freaks will need to showcase remarkable improvements over the origin to convince fence sitters to purchase the new game. So here are improvements I want to see in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire.

Online Pokémon Contest
I am not sure how other Pokémon fans feel about this, but I thoroughly enjoyed Pokémon Contest. Contests were a far departure from the typical battle that the franchise was known for – I like to describe it as a beauty contest, which in part required you to train a good looking Pokémon. I enjoyed every aspect of the Pokémon Contest, from collecting berries, creating Pokeblocks (replaced by Poffins in Gen 4), and earning ribbons. Now, with Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, Pokémon Contest must return, and I would like to participate in online contests. Online Pokémon Contest battles would be a neat addition to the constantly improving multiplayer options of the franchise. Besides, no one can beat my Muk in the cute category, and I dare anyone to challenge me 😛

Battle Frontier from Emerald
Pokémon X&Y post game content left many wanting more. However, the same mistake cannot be made in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. To ensure that the new remakes has sufficient post game content – it would be wise for Game Freaks to include the battle frontier from Pokémon Emerald. If my memory serves me correctly, the Battle Frontier had 6-7 Facilities waiting to be conquered – each containing a powerful Frontier Brain. Essentially, the frontier was another league for players to beat after the main game. Ruby & Sapphire didn’t have the fleshed out Battle Frontiers that was present in Emerald, naturally, I’d expect the improvements in Emerald to be implemented into the new remakes.

Move Tutors
Typically with Pokémon Directors cuts (Emerald, Platinum and Crystals) and Remakes/Remasters, Game Freaks introduces Move Tutor as an add on from the original. With Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, move tutors are almost a given at this point. I wouldn’t be bothered if Game Freaks simply recycled all the Move Tutors from Emerald; however, I would like to see new moves from the latest generations, particularly the devastating moves like Flare Blitz, Close Combat and Wild Charge. Perhaps, maybe introduce a few more

Mega Evolutions
I’ve said this many times before – Mega Evolutions must make an appearance in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alphas Sapphire. It doesn’t make any sense to introduce a well-received game mechanic and not have it in the subsequent Pokémon titles. I suspect we will see Mega Latios and Latias in the remakes, hopefully, a few new Mega Evolutions are revealed apart from the ones introduced in Pokémon X&Y.
