The Locations of All The Triforce Shards In Wind Waker HD

In The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD, Nintendo has made numerous changes to the Triforce quest. In the original Wind Waker, the triforce quest was mundane and tedious – forcing the players to collect 8 triforce charts then pay a fortune to get them deciphered by tingle. After all that, using the charts, Link must travel across the ocean to retrieve the shards.

In Wind Waker HD, Aonuma has streamlined the quest reducing the chore of collecting the shards and easily shedding 2 hours of boredom.

After beating, Forsaken Fortress the second time you will be sent the incredible chart through the post box (note: You will need to pay 201 rupees for postage fee). In the original Wind Waker, the Incredible Chart ONLY revealed the location of the Triforce Charts.

Now, the incredible chart reveals the location of 5 shards without the need of deciphering of Triforce charts. Essentially, Nintendo replaced 5 of the charts with Triforce shards. However, players are still required to collect 3 Triforce charts and as well as the ghost ship chart to retrieve the Triforce shard in the ghost ship

Since, Nintendo has made a few changes to the Triforce hunt quest. It would be appropriate to make a guide detailing all the locations of all the shards and charts.

Triforce Chart Locations

Triforce Chart Location 1

Location: BIRDS PEAK ROCK – G5

Easiest way to get there: Warp to Forest haven and travel NW

Requirements:  Hyoi Pear

Use the Hyoi Pear to gain the control of a seafull. Control the seagull to hit 5 switches on top of each peak. Once the gate has opened enter the hole and play the Wind requiem to get the chart.

Triforce Chart Location 2

Location: Islet of steel – B5

Requirements: None

Defeat all the warships using the bombs. Find the entrance into iron fortress. Once inside find the wind symbol and play the wind requiem to reveal the chest with the second Triforce Chart.

Triforce Chart Location 3

Location: Needle rock isle – A5

Requirements: Bombs

Sail to need Rock Isle. Look around to find a group of 3 warships. Engage in battle Defeat the golden ship, then use the grapple hook to retrieve to retrieve the chest where the warship was destroyed.

Once, you have all the charts, travel to Tingle’s Island (C5) to get them deciphered from Mr Tingle. Please note you will need at least 1000 to translate all 3 Triforce charts.

 Triforce Shard Locations

Triforce shard 1:

Location: Overlook Island – G1

Best way to get there: Warp to Dragon Roost, then Sail NW

Requirements:  Hook shot.

Once you arrive at Overlook Island, sail to the lowest plateau and using the hookshot aim at the palm tree to reach the top of the plateau. Now, using the hookshot aim at the palm trees to travel across each plateau, once on top of the highest plateau enter the hole. In here, you will need to enter each room with an unlit torch above the door and defeat the enemies. Once you have defeated every enemy the door will unlock leading you to the chest where the shard is hidden.

Triforce shards 2

LOCATION: Links Oasis/Private Oasis- E5

Best way to get there: Warp Forest haven travel then SAIL NE

Requirements: Grapple hook, Skull Hammer, Cabana Deed

Firstly, you will need to receive the Cabana  Deed to the house from the school teacher in Windfall Island. Give her 20 joy pendants and she will hand over the deed.

Enter the Cabana by showing the doors the deed. Once inside, use the grapple hook to latch on to the switch dangling on the ceiling. Enter the hole and navigate through the maze. Use the skull hammer to activate short cuts. At the end you should receive a Triforce shard.

Triforce shard 3:

Location: Stone watcher- c5

Best way to get there: Warp to Great Fish Isle, then travel South East.

Requirements: Power bracelet

Use the power bracelet to lift the stone head and then enter the hole. . In here, you will need to enter each room with an unlit torch above the door and defeat the enemies. Once you have defeated every enemy the door will unlock leading you to the chest where the shard is hidden.

Triforce shard 4

Location: Outset Island

Requirements: Hookshot, power bracelets,

Go behind your house and look up on top of the cliff, there should be a palm tree you can hookshot up to. Once on top, use the power bracelet to remove the stone head and enter the whole. In here you will need to battle through multiple levels until you reach an empty level with marking of wind in the middle of the floor. Play the Winds requiem to reveal the chest containing the shard.

Triforce Shard 5

Location: Varied

Requirements: Ghost ship Chart in diamond Steppe Island (A6)

Travel to Diamond Steppe. Using the Hookshot, aim at the palm tree to get on top of the isle. Enter the hole. Once you enter you will need to navigate a maze comprising  of warp pots. At the end you should receive the ghost ship chart from the chest. The Ghost Ship appear will appear at night at different location depending on the shape of the moon. Now you could go hunting for the Ghost ship, but I recommend staying at diamond steppe isle and spam the song of passing until the Ghost Ship appears. To enter the ship you need to sail through the ship. Note: You must have viewed the ghost ship map

Using Triforce Chart 23 locate the treasure chest in the area and use the grapple hook to fish the shard from the ocean.
