The hype for Super Smash Bros. For 3DS is palpable. With the game launching in Japan within 4 days, excitement for Nintendo’s signature fighting game is at a all time high.

In todays update, director Masahiro Sakurai has revealed that fans outside of Japan should expect news on the demo for Super Smash Bros. For 3DS. “For users outside of Japan, stay tuned for more news about the demo for Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS. Screen shot is from Japanese version.” wrote Sakurai on Miiverse.

The demo available in Japan contains 5 fighters, the Battlefield stage and will have fixed rules. In addition, a few items and assist trophies will be available for use. With Super Smash Bros. For 3DS launching early next month in the west, I think we can expect the demo to hit late September.

“The only mode available on the demo version is Smash, but I also left open a feature called Tips. Just remember to tap that button. You’ll figure the rest out once you do.”

Super Smash Bros. For 3DS is set to hit stores in North America, Europe and Australia on October 3rd. Super Smash Bros For Wii U does not have a solid release date, but is targeted for the holidays.
