Media Create’s Japan sales numbers are in for the week between July 21 and July 27. As always, the Nintendo 3DS remains at the top of the hardware charts selling 38, 455 units for the week.  I think it is safe to assume that the 3DS has regained the momentum it had before the tax hike that happened earlier this year. Yo-kai Watch 2 continues its impressive run of success selling 180,880 copies during the week.

The Wii U receives a slight boost selling 9,429 for the week, which is up 1k over last weeks number. Mario Kart 8 has shown that it has plenty of fuel left in the tank ranking at number 3 in the podium adding a respectable 18, 129 units to its lifetime sales.

Nintendo’s performance in Japan will improve looking into the future. On the handheld front, the 3DS will have Monster Hunter 4G, Dragon Quest X, Super Smash Bros For 3DS and Pokemon Omega Ruby/Apha Sapphire all scheduled for the second half of 2014. The Wii U should see modest hardware boosts with the launch of Hyrule Warriors, Bayonetta 2 and Fatal Frame Wii U. The Wii U will no doubt get a significant spike when Super Smash Bros For Wii U launches during the holiday season.

Overall, Nintendo should be happy with the regained momentum in Japan.

About - Former friend of Mii-gamer’s Editor-in-Chief, Michael! Unfortunately, the friendship was ruined after a fateful night of Mario Kart 8. As the loser of the bet, I agreed to help around Mii-gamer as the Deputy Editor. Nah just joking! I joined Mii-gamer because I have passion for writing and Nintendo happens to be my favorite game company, it was the perfect opportunity to share my passion. I play all types of game, but I especially love online oriented titles. My favorite Nintendo franchise are 3D Mario platformers ( a bit cliche, I know).
